Can the lock be mounted on an existing bike model?

Both yes and no.

PentaLock can easily be fitted to your bike model. All you need is to make a minor adjustment and modify the bottom bracket diameter. This is a fairly small, but necessary operation, to get the PentaLock unit to fit.

Where can I buy PentaLock?

PentaLock only sells to the B2B market. For security reasons we only distribute directly to bike manufacturers.

What kind of traditional bikes are compatible with PentaLock?

Our product PL1 is made for non-electric/traditional bikes and work with almost all types and models.

Our product PL2 is made for e-bikes and works with all front- and rear-end motor systems.

Currently, PentaLock is not compatible with mid-drive motors. But stay tuned for future updates.

Is the lock insurance approved?

PentaLock is approved by a number of insurance companies.

FAQ for cyclists

Will my bike break if a thief attempts to steal it?

No, the bike does not break. The unit is rated for +200 kg of applied force, meaning that the lock will not break in case of the attempted theft.
Is it possible to mount the lock on my existing bicycle?

No, unfortunately, this is not possible.

The PentaLock unit is designed to be born with the bike from the manufacturer. This is to ensure the highest level of security and design.
Is the lock insurance approved?

Yes – several insurance companies have approved the lock.

What happens if I lose my keys?

It is important that you always have at least one ‘active key’. With this, it is possible to add as many new keys as you desire.

It is possible to order new ‘blank keys’ directly from PentaLock. You can then copy the ‘active key’ to the ‘blank key’.

If you lose all your keys, it will not be possible to add a new one to the system. This is due to high-security protocols to stop potential hackers, and you will therefore need to order a replacement of the lock at an authorized repair shop or dealer.
