Car versus Bike
You know how easy it is to just take the car? We know a lot of people who do, and we understand, since there are several advantages in choosing the car as your choice of transformation. You will not get sweaty, you will not get wet when it rains, and the time of transport will, all things equal, be shorter.
Yet active travel, such as riding your bike, is cheaper, healthier, better for the environment, and will not slow the urban streets. As you might have guessed, the list of advantages to riding an e-bike is even bigger!
The increase of bike riders
In the last couple of years, more people have chosen bikes as their preferred means of transport to and from work. This is supported by an academic report from CREDS, UK, that shows a drop in car-driven miles for the ages 17-59.
The report states, that there has been a successive cohort of younger people, who has reduced their car use. Further, the report shows an increase, which provides an improved infrastructure.
The advantages of riding bikes
Riding the bike is great due to several reasons. Among others, since it creates less congestion during rush hours on the roadway. Therefore the number of accidents would, all things equal, be reduced since the amount of cars on the street will decrease.
Furthermore, riding bikes provides better public health, including in the mental and emotional areas. Riding a bike will improve your balance and posture, flexibility, strength, and mood since you get movement and fresh air. Another point is the environmental factors.
When e-bikes replace cars, it saves a lot of CO2 emissions. Thus e-bikes contribute positively to the fight for CO2 reductions. Actually, if you replace your car and instead take your bike, when you need transportation, you will save approximately 3000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
Research on exchanging cars with bicycles
An investigation on replacing cars with bicycles has been made, based on people living in different cities all over Europe. The period has been two years and more than 10.000 samples have been obtained, consisting of travel diaries.
The results showed that people who cycled on a daily basis had 84% lower carbon emissions through their daily travel compared to the ones who did not cycle. Moreover, it was found that on average a person, who shifts from a car to bike for just one day in a week could cut their carbon footprint by 3,2 kg of CO2! The same emissions from eating a serving of lamb or chocolate or sending 800 emails.
The solution is e-bikes
The arguments for taking the bike instead of cars are huge. Yet, there is the issue with time and distance, which is problematic on the side of bikes. However, the solution to this would be e-bikes!
Since an electrical motor is integrated into all e-bikes, the speed will, all things equal, be greater, compared to regular bikes. The motor will make pedaling feel effortless and allow you to maintain your energy levels for a longer duration. E-bikes have become popular in the last few years and are expected to grow even more.
E-bikes are leading the way in the growth curve, which is predicted to expand from 3.7 million bikes sold in 2019 to 17 million in 2030. This results in an improvement in several areas and importantly – a need for an unbreakable bike lock.

To sum up, it can be concluded that there are infinite reasons why bike riding is a better choice – both personal and environmental reasons. The money aspect of things can also be considered.
Lastly a fun fact about Amsterdam. Did you know that there are more bikes than people in Amsterdam? That really testifies a huge bicycle market, who of course needs a secure bike lock. And why not get PentaLock then – since it is the world’s best bike lock with an integrated bike alarm system?
